** What the heck is the “Locker Program”? Spoiler alert: It has nothing to do with metal lockers**
Much of the Coeur Group’s time is focused on providing resources and volunteer hours to help other non-profits and organizations create a better community. But along with assisting these like-minded groups, we are also driven by our own flagship cause called the Locker Program. We use our monetary and physical resources to build and install large cabinets/shelving systems within our local schools. But that’s just the start... it’s what goes into those cabinets that really count.
Here is the Q&A from a local school (that you all know very well):
QUESTION - About how many students utilize the current locker (estimate) on average per week and what are the greatest demands for supplies?
ANSWER - Demand for basic school supplies is highest at the beginning of the school year and each semester. However, the need for basic hygiene and clothing articles is ongoing. Average request from students in need averages 3-5 per week. Throughout the school year needs change with respect to the opportunity for student involvement in extracurricular activities to include debate, robotics, orchestra for example.
